I John 3:16 NKJV
[16] By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Jesus’s love for us transcends life and death.
His sacrifice is hard to comprehend.
Sometimes I wonder why God couldn’t have figured out another way to save humanity that didn’t involve the death of His only beloved Son, but the wages of sin is death. There was no way around a sacrifice of that magnitude to atone for the sins of the world.
It doesn’t seem fair for Jesus, who never sinned, to take on our sin so that we might have eternal life.
The beauty of Jesus’s life and death is that He resurrected, reconnecting to His loving Father, and to everyone He loves. Easter time reminds us of God’s love.
Love transcends death.
Love lasts forever.
Love never fails.
Amen.
