Matthew 11:28 NKJV
[28] Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
What a difference a good night’s sleep makes!
When we wake up after a restful night, we have so much more energy to tackle the day, and our happiness increases.
We’re less likely to keep ruminating on problems.
We’re more likely to adopt an attitude of gratitude.
If we take time to follow good sleep practices and routines, then we reap the rewards.
Sunshine in the mornings can reset our circadian rhythms. We don’t need screen time at bedtime, and as much as we might want chocolate for dessert, chocolate contains just enough caffeine to disrupt our sleep patterns.
An extra walk on a sunny day with a good view of the mountains can remind us of God’s great works.
God knew that we need rest so much that He deliberately set apart the Sabbath day of rest for us.
God neither slumbers nor sleeps, but He certainly knows that we need sleep.
Amen.
