Proverbs 31:25-26 NKJV
[25] Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. [26] She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

I don’t normally give up anything for Lent, but last year, for the very first time, I gave up Facebook for Lent. This year, I prayed, and the Lord revealed to me that I should limit my time on Instagram to only 15 minutes a day, and keep my time there related mostly to prayer posts of other believers I follow.

I had not realized how much of my time scrolling on social media was costing me, and how much negativity and news I allowed into my life through social media posts until I stopped.

We sometimes have to ask ourselves if our outputs would change for the better if we changed our inputs.

What we take in matters.

When we take in love, we receive more love.

When we cultivate loving kindness, our hearts start to soften.

The world doesn’t need more anger, fear, and division, but it does need more of Jesus’s love, a love that brings peace and a love that surpasses our understanding.

Amen.
