Proverbs 16:9 NKJV
[9] A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
Today would have been my dad’s 89th birthday.
My dad knew the value of exercise for stress relief. During his lifetime, he ran eight marathons. When I googled “Henry Akao marathons,” his placement results came up. I felt proud knowing that after his death, a record of his achievements still existed.
I don’t think I could run a marathon if I tried, but I can do yoga to calm myself down when I am feeling stressed.
Now that I have two little boys who run around the house, even if they have a cold and aren’t operating at top speed, they still have more energy than I do.
God gives each of us just enough endurance to fulfill the work He has set out for us.
His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
We can ask Him for help when the marathon of life tires us out.
Amen.
