Titus 3:4-7 NIV
[4] But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, [5] he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, [6] whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, [7] so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

By the grace of God, my second son is weaned. I didn’t want to wean him cold turkey, like I did with my first son. God provided a way for a more gentle weaning experience this time around.

Every baby is different.

My baby is a year and 4 months old, and he gently weaned himself. He loves food, so that helped tremendously.

First we night weaned and my husband would lie down with him till he fell asleep instead of me nursing him to sleep.

Then we cut out nursing before his 2 p.m. nap, and I snuggled him instead. Then, finally, this week, he cut out the nursing before his 9 a.m. nap.

I couldn’t believe it! I still had a hormone crash yesterday, but it subsided today.

It helped that he took a few naps during drives instead of staying home to nurse to sleep with me on some of the days.

Now, my baby can help himself to Caprisun.

When a baby is born, the lives of its family change forever, for the better.

Likewise, when a Christian is reborn, life becomes better indefinitely by God’s grace and mercy.

The Lord knows what we can handle or not.

He shows us mercy before we feel overwhelmed.

He saves us by grace, not because of our righteous works, but because he loves us, and our actions change as a result.

Amen.
