Psalms 42:1 NIV
[1] As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.
Deer do not obsess about the quality of their water. They trust that God will provide them with water they can drink.
They don’t test their water.
They don’t analyze it.
They don’t filter it.
Yet, they manage to stay alive.
When they are thirsty, they find water and drink it.
When the Children of Israel wandered in the desert, they complained to Moses that they didn’t have water to drink. They complained so much that Moses struck the stone that provided them with clean water. That stone represented Jesus Christ. Moses’ anger and mistake cost him dearly. He couldn’t enter into the promised land as a result.
We need to be careful what we say and do when we’re templed to complain. We can choose to hold space for silence instead.
Every human experiences anger, but we can learn to manage it and identify what causes it.
God can help us cultivate patience during stressful situations.
Jesus experienced anger, but He didn’t sin.
We can look to Him for guidance and inspiration.
Amen.
